You don’t have to be superman to play the harmonica, but it might help.

The harmonica is one of the easiest, most pleasing instruments in the hands of a preschooler. Choose the key of the harmonica- it’s listed on the top where the metal is attached to the wood. Then play songs in that key. Simple songs, folk songs, rock songs. It’ll sound good no matter where your child plays. This is, of course, also true for grown ups. Bring a couple of harmonicas to the campfire and wow everyone by never sounding outlandishly bad. This is why cowboys always played harmonicas out on the range and not trombones. Trombones are difficult. Also heavy and challenging to fit in a saddle bag. Here my friend’s son is trying to trick us into believing that you have to be Superman to play. You don’t have to dress like superman, but you might feel like him. Or Wonder Woman. Or if you are my son, Luke Skywalker.
